Happy New Year!!!

Welcome 2011!!!

Patrick and I want to wish everyone a wonderful, safe, happy, healthy new year!!!!

We had a great 2010. It started with our wedding in January! What a way to start the year. It is hard to believe we will be celebrating our first anniversary soon.

Thankful for the year we have had. I am not one for making resolutions. I read another blog earlier tonight and it talked about just wanting to be content this year and not worrying about all the material things such as: the biggest or nicest house, the cleanest house, the best clothes, etc... That is my hope for this year as well too.

There are several things that I hope to accomplish this year, but one of the most important is to be content and to spend time on the things and people that matter the most.

I am hopeful that 2011 is going to be a great year. I know that God has great things in store for all of us. I can't wait to see the plans the Lord has for us!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

Christmas Adventures: Our First Christmas!

Before, I forget I want to share a little bit about our Christmas adventures. Our last day to work was December 17th. We are so thankful to have had time off. We headed to Jackson for the weekend. We had not seen Lori's Christmas decorations, and it was a good weekend to spend time with the sister. We had a good time visiting, shopping, wrapping presents, and eating at a few of our favorite restaurants. We came home Sunday afternoon, washed, and packed again. Monday night we went to our Sunday school Christmas party. We had a good time of fellowship, and good food with some very good friends. Tuesday we were able to have lunch with Adam and Amy before we hit the road for the coast. We spent Tuesday to Friday afternoon on the coast celebrating Christmas with Patrick's family. It was a crazy, but good time. Patrick got to play golf two days in a row. He was very happy, as he does not get to play too much. Mrs. Tammy had to work, so I enjoyed some time just doing nothing. Which if you know me, is very rare. We had Christmas with Patrick's parents and brother, his dad's side of the family, and also with his mom's side of the family. We were blessed with many wonderful gifts. We are so thankful by everyone's generosity during this Christmas season, and even more thankful for the ultimate gift: Our Savior!

*Let me also make a note that we watched USM play Louisville in the St.Pete bowl, but we lost! It was a heart breaker, as we started off so good.

Friday afternoon we headed back to Hattiesburg to make it back in time for Christmas Eve Service. Going to church Christmas Eve has always been a Knight tradition, and I was very excited to have Patrick attend Christmas Eve service with me this year. It was a beautiful service, and it meant a lot to both Patrick and I to be able to worship together. We came home from church and mom and I finished preparing our meal. We had cajun fried turkey, dressing, corn, squash, mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls. It was a very delicious meal that we were able to share with Mom, Dad, Mimi, Lori, Adam, and Amy. We then had Christmas again with my family. Once again we were extremely blessed. We received so many nice presents.

Patrick and I headed home after presents and making a cream cheese, sausage crescent roll breakfast dish for Christmas morning. Patrick and I were anxious to exchange presents, so we decided we would open the presents under the tree, and wait until Christmas morning to see what "santa" left in our stockings! We had a great time listening to Christmas music, and sitting by the tree opening presents. We had a little more washing to do before it was time for bed. We were pretty tired, but looking forward to Christmas day. We woke up early to see what Santa left. Our stockings were filled with lots of good goodies. We then got ready to head to my parent's house. Santa had visited us there as well. We had fun opening our gifts and spending time with family. We had a great breakfast, then the great debate happened. We were suppose to hit the road by 10:00 to head to Birmingham. But, the weather did not want to cooperate. However, we finally decided after MUCH debate that we would hit the road. We were able to see snow, so that was lots of fun. We had a great time in Birmingham hanging out with more family. It was a busy Christmas, but I am glad that we were able to see ALL of our family.

We made it back to Hattiesburg on Monday, and Tuesday it was time for the Knight Christmas. There were kids ,adults, and dogs everywhere, but it was a lot of fun. It is always nice to see family that we have not seen in awhile. I am glad that we were all able to gather to have Christmas with Mimi and Pops.Patrick's family was in the mountains so we have not been able to spend anymore time with them. We were very sad to miss the trip, but we just could not do it all. Hopefully, we will get to go soon.

Whew... are you tired yet? It was a great Christmas. Patrick and I had a wonderful first Christmas. We are extremely blessed and very thankful this holiday season.

She said YES

I can't believe it, but my baby sister is getting married. It just doesn't seem possible. We were once playing in our room, pretending to be married, but now our childhood memories are becoming a reality. Patrick and I are very excited for Lori and James. We are praying for them as they begin to prepare for their big day. What an exciting time it will be.

Congratulations Lori and James, we are very happy for you!

Happy Birthday Brother!!!!

Happy Birthday to you! Adam, I hope you have a wonderful day!

This is your last birthday before you hit the big 30, and even more important your last birthday before you are a parent! I am pretty sure this will be an exciting year for you.

I hope you enjoy your day! I love you very much!!!!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas!

For unto us a child is born; unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder.
Isaiah 9:6
Christmas is here.... I can hardly believe it. It's the most wonderful time of the year. Patrick and I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. We are so blessed as we have already experienced a Christmas blessing and very generous people.

Hope you and your family have a great, blessed holiday!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Disruption

Disruption... a funny title huh? I kind of thought the same thing when I read it in the bulletin this morning. It was the title of the sermon. Patrick and I went to church with Lori this morning, and I was very curious what the sermon would be about. The preacher explained how the world was completely disrupted with the birth of Christ. However, Jesus is God's ultimate gift to us. Thus, the true meaning of gift giving at Christmas. Mary's and Joseph's plans were also disrupted. They were only engaged, not planning on having a child at the time of the birth of Christ. I have never really thought about the birth of Christ as a disruption to the world, but the thing that really got me was how often does God ask us to move outside of our comfort zone. We are sure that Mary and Joseph were scared, as God was asking them to do a great thing. It is important that when God "disrupts" our life that we listen to His will and are willing to break out of our routine. Being a person of habit, this is not always easy to do, however, I know that God has great plans for my life and sometimes I need to be disrupted so that His will can be done. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and God's Way=Merry Christmas.
I just thought I would share a little bit from a great sermon this morning. It really made me think about the Christmas story a little different, and the importance of letting God be in control.

We are off to our Sunday school party tomorrow night. We are looking forward to spending time with friends. Then, we are off to the coast. We will also be watching the Eagles play on Tuesday night. I hope we can pull out a win in the St. Pete bowl. GO EAGLES!!!!

Over the River, and Through The Woods

Yes, it is time!!! Christmas travel is about to start! In just a few hours we will get to enjoy a nice two week break. Patrick and I are so thankful to have some time off, and to spend our FIRST Christmas together. We are headed to Jackson this weekend to spend some time with Lori, and to see her Christmas decorations. We will be back in town for a little while where we will go to our Sunday School Christmas party, then we will head to the coast. On Christmas Eve, we will head back to Hattiesburg to go to church and to celebrate Christmas with my family. Christmas Day will start early, so Patrick and I can spend some time together and to see what "Santa" left at our house. Then we will head over to my parent's to see what "Santa" left there. After that we will head to Birmingham! On the 28th we will have Christmas with my dad's family. Are you tired yet!?! It might be a little tiring, but it will be well worth it. On this first Christmas we will get to make our rounds to see everyone! We are really excited.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone. As I have said before, I love gift giving. If only I could give more, but I really enjoy seeing the joy on other people's faces. I can almost hardly stand it. We are missing a trip to the mountains with Patrick's family this year that we are a little sad about :-(... We just could not do it all, and at some point you have to make a choice. One of the hards parts of growing up.

In other news, Patrick and I are planning what we want to do for our first anniversary! I can't believe it is almost here. Crazy.. We are really excited about getting a way even if it is just for one night. It will be fun!

Hope everyone has a safe, healthy, wonderful Christmas and New Year!

I hope to be back with some updates along the way.. So stay tuned!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Didn't Patrick do a great job at designing our Christmas card?! I love it! Hope you enjoy!

Christmas: Lowery Edition

A tour of our home:

We have really enjoyed decorating for Christmas this year. It has been a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy looking at our Christmas decorations in our home. Merry Christmas!!!

Stop Hunger Now

Did you know that every 3 SECONDS a child dies from hunger? How incredibly sad. Well on Saturday Patrick and I, along with our church family had the opportunity to help those in need. Our church packed almost 20,000 meals for Stop Hunger Now. How awesome. It was such a humble experience to see everyone in their hairnets and gloves packing meals to feed those who are so thankful for the simple things in life. We take so much for granted, but it was a great time to give back. God has blessed us, and we were thankful to be able to give back this holiday season.

I also wanted to mention that Patrick and I along with my parents shopped for a child off the angel tree. The children on this angel tree has a parent in prison. By buying for these kids their parents are able to give their children a Christmas. Patrick and I have always been blessed at Christmas time and the thought of a child who may not have anything else on Christmas having presents to open warms my heart. It is obviously not their fault that a parent is in jail, and they deserve to know there is hope and love in the world even through difficult situations. I don't say all this to ring our own bells, but to encourage you that anything you can do to help someone out is worth it. I assure you, you will probably be just as blessed if not more so.

I also hope that Patrick and I will continue to choose an angel or some mission to give back to during the holiday season. It really is an incredible blessing.

PS: A BIG BIG BIG thank you to my dad who helped Patrick with his car battery today. Needless to say, it took forever and several trips back to the house to get the battery out. We could not have done it without him. Thank you dad for giving up your Sunday afternoon to help us out. We greatly appreciate it. Also, thank you to Patrick's dad and his Granddaddy Doll for all the suggestions and support. It finally ended up coming out, and a new battery did the trick. Thank you all very much!!!!

The Reason for the Season

It truly is a wonderful time of the year... I love the holiday season. For many reasons, I guess: extended time spent with family and friends, good food, lots of laughter, a break from work, a change in routine, the giving of gifts, warm clothes, and the list goes on... Patrick and I are preparing to spend our first Christmas together. This will be our 6th Christmas as a couple, but every year we have gone our separate ways to spend time with our families. However, this year will be different. We are excited about starting our traditions, but I think we would admit it is kind of weird that things will be different. But, this year is special. Our first Christmas as husband and wife. We will never get our first Christmas back, and we have had a great time so far. It's been fun shopping, baking, listening to Christmas music, and figuring out our holidays plans. But, I was reminded that in the hustle and bustle of this time of year, that there is a GREATER meaning for the season.

At church the question was posed what if we had been Mary? Would we have done what God asked her to do. I have been thinking about that a lot lately. I hope that I would, but sometimes I wonder how often I push God to the side, and tell Him that I can do it. Ha! This has not proven to be very wise decision. I am thankful that Our Lord and Savior was born on Christmas. What an incredible event to celebrate. Because of Mary's faithfulness, and the life Jesus lead, I am forgiven and so are you. I wonder what is was like so many years ago in that stable. What an incredible event it must have been. I hope that as you enjoy the holiday season that you too will remember the reason for the season.

It is a fun time of the year and so easy to get caught up in presents and food, but this time of the year does carry great meaning. Patrick and I have enjoyed trying to give back this holiday season, as we know that we are incredibly blessed. We look forward to Christmas day together as we too will be opening presents, but I hope that Christ's birth is what we will truly remember on Christmas day.

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season!

Thankful

It is back to the real world this week. We enjoyed two and a half extra days off last week for Thanksgiving. It was really nice to have a break. It was much needed, and I feel like I can now make it to Christmas. We spent our Thanksgiving on the coast with Patrick's family. We had a great time visiting with everyone and eating LOTS of good food. Patrick's Nana had everyone on her side over on Thanksgiving day. There were about 55 people there. It was fun to see new and old faces and enjoy all the food. Friday, not too much shopping was done. We headed back to Hattiesburg because Mrs. Tammy had to be in Moselle for a wedding rehearsal that night. Patrick and I enjoyed watching football (although USM did NOT pull through for us). Saturday we did a little shopping and off to the wedding we went. It was a beautiful ceremony. It brought back many memories. Sometimes it makes me want to get married again! ha! Don't worry Mom and Dad it will not happen. It just brings back many happy, wonderful memories.

Patrick and I are thankful for many things this Thanksgiving. We have been abundantly blessed. We have a nice place to live, good jobs, great family and friends, a wonderful church home, and each other. Can't ask for much more. Let me be clear, we have our ups and downs, but we are still incredibly blessed.

My most favorite time of the year is in full swing now. I have always loved Christmas, the meaning behind it, and giving to others. But, this year holds extra special meaning. It's our first Christmas together. I am beyond excited! We have been decorating machines. I can't wait to show you what we have been up to.

Christmas is 25 days away!!!! I need to get busy wrapping presents. I am almost done with my shopping. I am ready to have everyone taken care of!

I hope everyone has a great holiday season. I'll be back soon to share some pictures of our first Christmas decorations.

I can't think of a title:

I sat for for awhile, and came up with no title.. Oh well, maybe you can think of one.

So, it's been about two weeks this time. A little better. I am sure you do not want to hear again how busy I have been, and how I have been meaning to blog, and have not! :-) Back to what has been going on.

The weekend we were thinking about going to New Orleans to watch USM play did not happen. USM lost to UAB the week before in double overtime by one point. Talk about heart broken. It was a sad day to be a Golden Eagle. We did enjoy the weekend on the coast. I bought lots of Christmas stuff to decorate with and even a few Christmas presents. I am ready to have my Christmas presents bought and wrapped so that I can enjoy the rest of the holidays. It really is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the act of giving gifts just as much as I enjoy receiving them.

This weekend after much debate we decided to stay home. Well, Patrick went to the Brandon football game with his dad on Friday night. Brandon did so good. They are playing Oak Grove this coming weekend at Oak Grove. I am so glad that we will get to go. Oak Grove is my Alma Mater, but I would by lying if I said I did not want Brandon and especially Jacob to do well. Getting side tracked: On Saturday we had a pretty lazy day, we did something really fun (which I will tell you about later), and I got some errands done. It was nice to be able to get some things done. I have not felt good the past few days though. I guess it is just a cold or something. Hoping to turn the corner soon.

But, the week is starting and we must press onward. USM plays Houston on Saturday. Hoping for a big win. They beat a ranked UCF team this weekend. And the basketball team is off to a great start too!

On another note, three football players were tragically shot today, really is sad, unnecessary violence. My heart goes out to their friends and family. Praying for a full recovery.

Hope everyone has a great week! Here is a sneak peak of what we have been up to! :-) More to come soon!

Many Adventures!

You know, I always find myself thinking about writing on the blog, and all this great stuff that I am going to say, but as you can see it does not always happen. I really do have great intentions to be better. I guess that I need to work a little harder on that. So much has happened since my last post, so I will try and remember everything. I think some bullet points will work best!

*I had a great birthday! Patrick made my day so special, and he was so sweet to me. I am very thankful for him. It was a little different this year as my family was not in town, but we celebrated earlier in the week, therefore, I had a week long celebration. Also, I found out that I would be having a nephew! I am so excited, and am already stocking up on many things for him! And now,I am the BIG 25 ! I know, so old! Praying for a wonderful year!

*We were going to go to Memphis to see USM play and spend sometime there since Patrick had never been. But, since USM lost to East Carolina the weekend before we decided not to go. I was a little sad, but we did go to the coast and spent some wonderful time with Patrick's family. It was nice to get a way for a few days. I even took Monday off. That was so nice, however, I filled my day with getting things done around the house.

*The following weekend we went to Jackson to spend time with my sister. We really went so Lori could spend time with James! ha! But, we had a really nice time. We played put-put the first night, and had so much fun. And let it be known that Patrick only beat me by one stroke! Next, time I will win! I even got to do some shopping the Dogwood shopping area. I love that place. I am ready to go back so that I can get my Christmas shopping done. On Sunday we got to eat at Stix!!! Love that restaurant! Wish we had one.

*This weekend we were looking forward to USM redeeming themselves against UAB. We lost to them last year, and really needed a win in the Rock. Let's just say we were a little more than disappointed. We lost in double overtime by one point. Heartbroken... It's not shaping out to be a very good year for USM football. Hopefully, we can turn it around and win a few more games. On the other hand, my husband is ready for basketball! I'll let you know how that goes!

*So, what does this coming weekend hold? Good question! We were going to New Orleans to watch USM play Tulane. We were going to go early to eat Beignets, and eat at this restaurant called Houstons. But, since USM disappointed us again, I am not sure what will happen. I guess you will have to stay tuned to see! Should be interesting, that is for sure!

*Well besides football, we have been busy working. Patrick's work is still a little slower so that is good for him. My work is crazy busy, but hopefully our numbers will show it this grant year. We are looking forward to the holidays coming up. Our firsts holidays as a married couple. We are very excited! However, it is so hard to decide where to go, and what to do to make all of our families happy. I have decided it just can't be done. We just have to do the best that we can. Anyone else understand this? Anyways, I am ready to put my Christmas tree up! I am so very excited. It will be so fun to decorate and celebrate the holidays.

*I think I have caught you up. I really will try and be better! Hope everyone has a great week! Until next time!.....

Do you like it!?!

Do you like my new blog header!?! Isn't it wonderful! I owe my great friend Samantha McCain a huge thanks for creating it for me. I just love it. I have no creative bones in my body, but I just send her some pictures, and she makes it work. I am so thankful for her. She is always patient and puts up with my craziness when it comes to the blogging world!

Well, life has been busy. But, when is it not? We have enjoyed the wonderful weather we have been having. It has been awesome! Football is in full swing, and it is keeping us very busy. However, we would not have it any other way. This weeks is Homecoming. A special time for the University. It is fun watching everyone come back to USM. We are looking forward to a day full of tailgating and an awesome game to follow. The Rock should be rocking! Hoping for a great game! :-)

Work has been keeping both Patrick and I extremely busy. We are ready for a break. Next week I celebrate the BIG 25! I just can't believe it. Where has the time gone? Patrick loves when I have a birthday because then I become a year older than him (not really a year, but we are different ages for a little while). Oh well, what can I say? He married a wiser woman! ha! I am looking forward to next week because on Friday we are leaving for Memphis. And as a birthday present to myself I am taking off next Friday and Monday! That means two 4 day work weeks in a row. I think that I am going to like that. I thought about taking off my actual birthday (Thursday), but surely it can't be too bad working on your birthday. We shall see!

Maybe, I can convince my husband to make a blogging appearance soon. I will see what I can do. I possibly can pull it off since my birthday is happening soon! But, I do want to say that I received my first birthday card today. It was from the President of the University! :-) How thoughtful! I do love birthdays... I love other people's birthdays because it's a chance to make them feel extra special and a day to truly celebrate them. So, likewise, I enjoy my birthday because I feel extra special and enjoy the sweet comments and well wishes from friends and family. I am in great hopes that the BIG 25 will be a great year!

Well, hopefully I will return soon for a good update from this weekend! Let's go Eagles!!

Well, 6 years ago today Patrick asked me to be his girlfriend. Actually his exact words were, "I guess when people ask, you can say we are together." Ha! He was so funny! :-) We were sitting on the curb outside the back of Hickman Hall. These past 6 years have been something else! :-) They have been full of love, laughter, joy, frustrations, happy times, and sad times, but above all we have grown and are now living a wonderful married life!!! I know there will be obstacles along the way, but we are in this together, and I am so thankful!!!

I am so very thankful for Patrick, and proud of the person he has become. He is a wonderful husband!!! Here is to many more wonderful years!!!

A picture from our younger years!

So, what else has been going on in the Lowery household:

We have been busy, busy... USM football is in full swing. We are enjoying our time tailgating and spending time at the ROCK! We also just made a trip to Ruston, LA. It was not a pretty game, but the Eagles pulled out the W. Thank goodness. Hopefully, there are many more road trips to come!

Also last week, Dave, Emily, and Sarah were in town. We were able to have a little get together at the apartment. It was so great to see them. I miss them already. It was a great night of fun and fellowship. I am very thankful for great friends. I wish the Cook family all the best as they move up North! We will have to plan a trip to see them very soon.

Oh, and I want to wish a very (belated) Happy Birthday to a dear, sweet friend Samantha! I hope her year is filled with many wonderful wishes!

My trip to Louisville!!!

Well, I have been back for a week from Louisville, but I wanted to make sure that I told you about my trip.

I had a great opportunity to go visit Dave, Emily, and baby Sarah. I was so very excited. It was a wonderful trip, and I had the best time. I just love Sarah bear! She is one precious, wonderful baby. It was so fun to watch Emily as a mom. She's a wonderful mom, and Sarah is very blessed. However, sometimes I would sit and think, "how did we get to this point in our lives." Not too long ago we were trying to figure out how we were going to spend the night with each other!

I am very thankful for Dave's and Emily's hospitality. It was a wonderful time of fun and fellowship. I am so glad that I got to go visit them. I wish them the best as the get ready to move way up North. Hopefully, one day I will have the opportunity to visit them in their new home!

I leave you with a few pictures from my trip!

It's HERE!!!

Well, it's here!! Football season that is! Patrick and I are so excited. We have been waiting. It is one of our favorite times of the year. Tailgating, Eagle Walk, The fight song, touchdowns, friends, and family, and watching it on TV.. What more could you want? I may not be the typical girl to love all of this stuff. But, it's been in my blood since birth! (Thanks Mom and Dad). I really do love it! We are ready for SATURDAY at the ROCK!

BUT, until then we are ready to watch the Eagles take on South Carolina tonight on TV. It is sure to be a great game, and we are hopeful the Eagles will come out on top. My dad informed me he was going to sit quietly and watch the game. ha! Everyone who knows my dad knows that he does not sit quietly while USM is playing. I'll be sure to give you an update on how that goes! Wish we there in person, but we should have a great view from the comfort of the couch. Patrick and I do plan on making some road games. Now's the time to do it!

Labor day weekend is fast approaching. woo hoo! I have a very special trip planned. I will give more details when I return. I can't wait to see some very special people!

Have a great day, and GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Weekend!

Well, I did good about making frequent posts for about 1 week, then I just let it go! I think about making a blog post all the time, but then I never seem to get around to do doing it.

Things have been busy in the Lowery household. Patrick and I both have been working longer hours. But, things are good. We are thankful for our jobs and continue to press on.

We did get a new bed recently!!!! We are super excited. It is just amazing and we both sleep so much better. Who knew it would make such a difference. It was well worth the money.

And the good news is that we sold my car!!! We were very thankful about that, so now we only have two cars in our possession. Much better than 3.

Patrick and I are looking forward to the start of football season! Especially USM's season! We can hardly wait. In fact high school football starts tonight and Patrick can hardly wait to go to the games. It will be a fun fall. Looking forward to some cooler weather! A girl can always hope!

Lastly, I will close by saying my wonderful husband brought home some flowers last week. They were beautiful! It's the little things in life that make the biggest difference. It was just what I needed. I am very thankful for him.

Looking forward to the weekend. My sister will be home, so we will finish celebrating dad's birthday and enjoy time together. Hope everyone has a good one!

HAPPY 6TH MONTH ANNIVERSARY!

I can remember when Patrick and I first started dating, and thinking how exciting it would be when we made to our first month! I still remember what I gave him on the first month anniversary! A box of smiley's! I know what a dork, but he kept me around. On the the 27th of July we had been together for 5 years and 10 months! And now today we celebrate our 6th month wedding anniversary! I can honestly say it has been a great 6 months. Married life has been everything everyone told me it would be. Patrick and I are abundantly blessed, and we are very thankful! We have truly enjoyed spending time together and just genuinely being together with no other priorities (you know except the usual: work, dinner, clothes, cleaning, and bills). So, in honor of our 6th month anniversary here are 6 reasons why I am so thankful for my wonderful husband:
1. He loves me always!
2. He cooks!
3. He makes me laugh!
4. He helps me see the positive in all situations!
5. He always encourages me!
6. He makes me feel special!

Happy Anniversary Patrick! I love you very much!

So, what else has been going on in the Lowery household. Not too much. Work has been extremely busy for both of us, so that has kept us running. I did get a NEW car (okay new to us). We were able to buy a SUV from Patrick's parents at a great price. We (especially me) are super duper excited! Now, I just need to sell my car and we will be in good shape, but I am hopeful!
My sister has moved into her new apartment to start her big girl job! I am so proud of her for facing this journey! I know she will do great things. She has a really nice place, and I think she will really like living there!
This weekend Patrick's parents are coming to stay with us, so there is should to be golf and shopping. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

Oh yeah, I did attempt to make a turtle cheesecake. Hope it turns out good! I'll let you know!

Introducing: SARAH EMILY COOK

"For This Child I have Prayed" 1 Samuel 1:27

I have been waiting to share this blog post. My best friend, Emily, had her baby on July 16! She had a beautiful girl that weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 21 inches long. The name given to her was Sarah Emily Cook. What a perfect name for a princess.

I am so proud of you Emily and Dave. I am so excited for you, I can hardly stand it. I am praying for you as your start this journey. At times you may feel nervous, and wonder what to do, but know that you are not alone. There will be great days, and some days may seem harder, but remember tomorrow is a new day. You have an incredible job of raising a precious little girl. I know you will be great parents, and she will be loved beyond measure.

I love you friend and rejoice with you as you welcome little Sarah into the world.

Keep smiling and enjoy every moment!!!!

Week in Natchez

Well, it has been a crazy week. I worked Monday then on Tuesday left for a conference in Natchez. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot. The speakers at the conference were very motivational and inspirational. We even got to stay at the Dunleith. It was a beautiful home. I am thankful for the opportunity I had to go to the conference.

Patrick held down the fort while I was gone. He even got to sleep in the middle of the bed! We do fine when we are away, but we sure did miss each other. I guess you really learn to appreciate each other when you have to spend time a part.

I have an exciting post coming soon!!!! Stay tuned!

Thankful for Friday

I am not sure I ever been so thankful for Friday and the weekend until I started working full-time. It is a nice break after long weeks. The thing about this week is that we only worked 4 days, however, I am very thankful it is Friday. I think sometimes the shorter weeks are even harder because we try to get everything done in a shorter amount of time. I guess that is the way it works.

Not too many plans for the weekend. Patrick plans on playing golf tomorrow. He loves that game. I am glad when he gets to play it makes him very happy. I plan on doing a little shopping. I really need some new jeans, and relaxing is in the agenda. Miss Mississippi comes on Saturday night. I was never a pageant girl, but I really enjoy watching them on TV especially when I know some of the girls.

What are your weekend plans? I know of a few weddings taking place, which is very exciting. Oh, and I hope to finally get some wedding pictures printed. I know it's been almost 6 months, but it just has not gotten done yet. However, hopefully I will have them up in our house by the end of the weekend.

And for a side note.... I really appreciate my husband. The little things he does means the world to me especially his words of encouragement during stressful and frustrating times. Sometimes I forget to tell him how much I appreciate him. Hopefully he will read this!

Hope you have a great weekend!

New Look...

Well, it was time for a new look for my blog. And since I am so artistic..hahaha! Yes, I laugh out loud at myself, I thought I could create a new look. Boy, was I wrong. First, I tried to change the background and frantically e-mailed my good friend Samantha asking for help. All the words to my posts were gone.. It was a tragedy, she quickly informed me that somehow I had managed to change the font color to the same color on my background. I then was very careful and was able to put up a new background. I was very proud of myself. Then, my banner didn't match, so I was like "hey, I can do this." Once again, I was very wrong. However, my wonderful friend Samantha was able to create a new banner for me! Isn't it wonderful?!? Perfect for this time of the year! Thanks friend for coming to the rescue. Hopefully, I won't have anymore blogger disasters, but I make no promises!

Today, is my mother-in-law's birthday! Happy Birthday Mrs. Tammy! Patrick and I hope you have the BEST day!

Lately...

Well, I have been quite the blog slacker lately. I just find it hard to really put in the effort to blog. However, I really want to. I really enjoy reading blogs, so I should try and be better. I'm going to really try this time. It will be fun to look back one day at all the happenings of our life. So, to catch you up in the truest fashion, I will use bullet points!

* First, I totally missed Father's Day.. Bad Me.. However, I am so very thankful for my father. He is one of the sweetest most caring people I know. I love him so very much. I am also blessed to have a wonderful father-in-law. He loves me like his own daughter, and I am very thankful for him as well.

* Patrick and I went on a date last night! We went to see Toy Story 3. It was really good. Sad and happy at the same time.

* I made carrot cake cupcakes from scratch with homemade icing and brought them to work today. They were a huge hit! I am pretty proud of my baking skills! I made a cake for Patrick and I, and I think he approves!

* A holiday weekend is fast approaching. I have never appreciated them more. So, next week, I will only have to work 4 days. That's so very nice.

* Lori is coming over for dinner tonight.. We really like to have people over, so it will be fun to cook and entertain her.

* One of best friend's Emily is about to have her baby!!! I just can't wait! I am so excited for her, and hope that I will get to meet Little Cook soon!

* Married life is amazing! Patrick and I are truly blessed. People always told me it was good, but I never knew it was this good. I am very thankful for my most wonderful husband!

* Speaking of my husband, I think he should make a post soon. I am going to work on that!

* I guess that's it! Here is to being a better blogger!!!!

Vacation Needed....Vacation Taken....

Well, Patrick and I desperately needed a vacation this year. Thankfully, we got to go to Destin with his family for a few days. It was wonderful laying on the beach, shopping, and eating good food. It was much needed this year as Patrick and I have adjusted to the working world full-time. I really had a great time. Patrick... well... he got a little red. Wait, he got A LOT RED!!!... I felt so sorry for him. He was just pitiful. But, he did a get a round of golf in. The trip was not all bad for him. Thankfully, he is finally starting to feel better, but has been a real trooper. I am looking forward to the next vacation. The oil had not made it to Destin yet. We are thankful for that, but so sad about all the damaging impacts.

Not too much has been going on. I will try to be better at blogging. Patrick and I have been working hard, and just enjoying married life. We have decided that we live a good life. We are very thankful for all of our many blessings.

Here are a few pictures from our Destin trip....

Been Awhile...

Hi Friends,

I know it's been awhile, but life has just been busy. A good thing though. Patrick and I are greatly enjoying married life. Let's see if I can catch everyone up on what has been going on.

In March we had Spring Break, and were able to travel to Starkville to see Adam, Amy, and of course Albe too. We had a great visit, and also went up to see the grandparents in Birmingham. In the middle of the week we went down to the coast to spend time with Patrick's family. It was a busy week, but we enjoyed visiting everyone.

Patrick and I have been baking a lot. When I got our Kitchen-Aid Mixer I really wondered if I would ever use it... well the answer is YES!!! We have really enjoyed it. We have made pound cake, cheesecake, 4-layer, chocoloate chip pie, among other things.. Don't worry we don't eat it all, we share with everyone.

For Easter Patrick's parents came to say with us. We had a great time with them here. Easter Sunday we went to church and got to sit with both sets of our parents. It was really special. That evening Lori and I even got to hunt Easter eggs. It brought us back to our childhood. It was always a tradition, one that I hope never dies. We enjoyed great food and fellowhip and above all else reflected on our Risen Savior.

We have been quite busy in the Lowery household... Oh yes, and the best news Patrick got a full-time job!!!!!!!!! He started part-time, then was offered something full-time. Talk about a blessing. God has been so faithful. We are so thankful for all of His blessings. Patrick is very happy and doing great. God really is good, all the time!

Whew... that's a lot of updates. I'll try and be better. Our journey continues.. this weekend includes baseball and the spring football game. Something my husband looks forward to each year.

Have a great week!
