The Eve of our Wedding!

I can hardly believe that Patrick and I celebrate our ONE year anniversary tomorrow. Sometimes it feels like we have been married a lot longer, and other times I can barely believe it's been a year. What year it has been. People told me how wonderful marriage is, and you really can't know until you have been there. It's been a year full of memories, laughs, joy, love, and a few tears along the way. Patrick and I have been so blessed. It's crazy to think that this time last year were at our rehearsal diner.

Patrick and I have a great day planned tomorrow. We are looking forward to spending quality time together.

I will post of a reflection of this last year next week. Until then... a walk down memory lane in pictures!

Making sure we know what to do.
Me and my daddy.

Enjoying our wonderful meal.

Southern Oaks did a fabulous job with everything!

PS: On another another note. I want to say congratulations to Jonathan and Jessi Wallace. They welcomed baby Judah into the world very early this morning. If you all remember Jessi took all of our pictures for our wedding. We are so excited for them. They are going to be great parents. It will be so fun to watch sweet Jude grow up.

A little bragging.... Please..

I am not one to talk much about our "deep" personal lives. I figure some stuff should be just between Patrick and I, or other family members and friends. However, I wanted to share this. I wanted to brag for just a minute. This has been a tough week for me. I work on a grant, therefore, we are audited from time to time. This week is one of those times. It is very stressful, and makes for a long week. I think I was really tired today, and just worn out from everything that has been happening. If anyone knows me well, my source of relief in a time like this comes from crying.. a lot! Well, tonight was just one of those times... The rivers flowed for sure. BUT, I am truly so thankful for a wonderful husband who hugged me and told me it would be okay. He let me be sad for a little while and get it out of my system. He loves me so much even through the tears. I am so thankful for Patrick. We are able to pick each other up, and keep going on this journey. It truly is wonderful..

And speaking of Patrick, I did not discuss the details of my illness last week. I had a horrible stomach virus, and YES it was a stomach virus. Some people around me had it too, and we are pretty sure we know where it came from. It was a rough couple of days. But, Patrick took such great care of me. He would even stand at the door with his shirt over his his mouth and face and ask what he could do for me. He made sure I knew I could ask him for anything. I am glad that I had someone to help take care of me during that time.

This all leads me to say our anniversary is Sunday!!! Can you believe it's almost been a year? I can hardly believe it. What year it has been. God has blessed us in so many ways. We have had our ups and downs, but we have grown closer and stronger. I can't wait to see what year two will bring.

Things have been kind of crazy around here. We are ready for a weekend!

UPDATE: I'm feeling much better today! I didn't want anyone to worry too much. It was just one of those day. I know ya'll know I'm talking about. However, today is a new day! Thanks for the love, support, and prayers!

Day In New Orleans

So, last Saturday Patrick and I met his parents in Slidell where we all made the rest of the trip to New Orleans. Patrick and I had been wanting to go spend a day in New Orleans for awhile now, and his parents also like going down there as well. We did not get to spend much time with them over Christmas (so seeing them was a good thing), and it was a pretty weekend so we decided we would go. It was a perfect day. It was a little chilly, but not too bad at all. We started the day at Cafe Du Monde, with beignets. They were wonderful. We walked around the French Quarter for a little while, then we went to the IMAX theater. We saw Deep Sea. It was a really neat movie. Patrick has a love for WWII artifacts. We went to the WWII Museum and watched the 4D movie. It was really neat, and a great depiction of D day. We then went to a fabulous restaurant called Houstons. It was so good!!! Their salad was awesome, and I had the crab cakes, and Patrick had a steak. It was a wonderful meal. Then, after many years Mr.Kebo took Mrs. Tammy, and I to Macy's. We did not do too much damage. We had fun looking around. We definitely need to go back to hit the rest of the stores in the mall. It was a wonderful day!!! We are ready to go back again.

In other news, tomorrow we have the day off. It is always nice to add an extra day to the weekend. Patrick and I plan to enjoy it to the fullest. I am watching Band of Brothers with Patrick right now. This makes him very happy, and it paints WWII in a new light for me. So many selfless soldiers. It literary brings you to tears.

Our one year anniversary is coming up. I can't believe it has almost been a year! More on that later this month.

Lastly, Mom, Lori, and I went wedding dress shoping today. I can't believe my baby sister is getting married! This is sure to be a fun ride. I am so happy for her!

Hoping for a great week! Until next time....

The Cookies...

One night this week I was in the mood to bake something. I had some Hershey Hugs that were left over from Christmas so I asked Patrick to see if he could find me a recipe. He did, and we baked a masterpiece! :-) It's always fun to be in the kitchen together baking. We were very proud of our most recent masterpiece. So, here is a picture of our peanut butter/hug cookies!

Back to the Real World...

Yes, last Monday we went back to work. We were not looking forward to it too much because we very much enjoyed our time off. However, it was nice to get back into a routine. The first week back was not too bad. Involved a lot of catching up, and getting back into the groove. It's just part of growing up. However, we know we were blessed to have two weeks off because not many people get that much time off. So, back to the real world we went!

Now, we sit here waiting to see what the weather is going to do. USM will be closed until noon tomorrow, so we will see what actually happens.

We are praying for a wonderful year as we start back to work and settle in for the new year. We wish the same to you and your family!
