Are YOU Ready for some Football?!?

Yes, it's that time of the year again and the Lowery household is excited. I grew up around sports my entire life, and when I say I bleed black and gold I am not exaggerating. It really is the truth. I always wondered if I would marry someone who loved USM as much as my family. Well, let me tell that you that I did. Patrick also bleeds black and gold. Any my favorite sport is starting FOOTBALL!!! I love college football, and USM has their first game this weekend. We are really looking forward to watching the Eagles play. We are hoping for a GREAT season. USM has been known to build you up, and then bring you down, but hopefully this will prove to be good year for them.

We are having our tailgating party at our house this weekend. The rest of the week will be spent getting ready for it. I have come to the conclusion that a perfectionist planning a party does not go together. I know I just have to let a lot of stuff go, and make the most of it. I just want to have plenty of food and room, and I want everyone to be happy. I hope all of those happen. (I'll give a report next week on how it went.)

Who are you cheering for this weekend? You can bet, we will be wearing the black and gold and cheering loud for those Eagles!

SOUTHERN MISS TO THE TOP!!!

Walkin In Memphis

Two weekends ago, Haley Carter and I hit the road to Memphis, TN. The reason: our friends Greg and Lori were getting married, and bonus the "friend" group was able to spend some time together. It was a whirlwind weekend, but I am so glad we go to go and share in their special day. And it was a wonderful treat to spend time with sweet Emily, Haley F., Grayson (and his wife), and Katye (and her husband). It was wonderful to all be together if even for a short while.

Haley and I hit the road Friday night and drove to Jackson. We stayed with Lori, and it was great to be able to see her for a little while. We didn't get to spend much time together because we left early Saturday morning for Memphis. However, it is always good to see the sister.

We got to Memphis around lunch time and right as the bottom was falling out. Let me tell you, that was fun... We had lunch, ironically enough where Greg was with his all friends from the wedding, and where Emily was having lunch with her Memphis friends. We could not have pulled that off again if we tried.

It was pouring!

We were ready for the rain!
After lunch we headed back to the hotel to hangout. Little did we know the power was out because of the storm. It was little humid for awhile, but finally the power came back on. It was just in time to get ready for the wedding.

Sarah and I at the wedding.
I had a great time catching up with everyone. We all do not get to get together very often, so it was a special time. I even got to spend some time with sweet Sarah. She is such a doll!

We went to the wedding and reception, and had a great time. The wedding was beautiful ceremony, and the reception had great food and fellowship.

And one more... just because

It was a late night so we went to bed when we got back to the hotel, and headed out early Sunday morning. It was a long drive home, but it was worth it. But, there really is "no place like home."

We wish Greg and Lori all the happiness!!!

Best Friends

"One who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure."

Back in August, Adam, Amy, and Cameron were in Hattiesburg for a visit. As always, it was nice to have them at "home." It was a treat while they were here to have Jonathan, Jessi, and Jude come over for some fellowship. Adam and Jonathan have been best friends for a long while, therefore Amy and Jessi became friends, and Patrick and I are actually live in the same neighborhood as Jonathan and Jessi, and they have been so sweet to us.. so you get the picture we are all friends.

Jude and Cameron got to "hangout" with each other. It was so cute watching them look at each other, and figure everything out. I am sure these two will be best friends as well, (they will if their parents have anyting to do with it). They are precious little boys who melt my heart. Hope you enjoy the pictures. They make me laugh!

Hey Guys!

Your arm is so good Jude.

I'm going to get your arm!

I love those fingers too!

I love how Jude is looking at Cameron. Jude is a good at sharing!

A New House, A New Beginning...

Well, I finally got around to taking some pictures of our house. We do not have everything done yet, but it is very comfortable and feels like a home. In time, we will finish getting everything done (maybe). Patrick and I will never be bored again a day in our lives because there will always be something to do. But, that's not a bad thing. We have enjoyed working on our home, and making it ours. This has definitly opened a new chapter in our lives. And we are excited about all the memories to be made in our new home.

You guessed it, today is my dad's birthday.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday dad. We wish you many, many more wonderful years.
We love you very much. I am so thankful for you. You are a great father and father-in-law.
Hope you have the BEST day!!!

And so you can look back on this picture in 20 years. Here is a picture of my dad from the cruise. Don't worry I would not let him out of the room like that.

Pure Joy!

There is no other way to describe this bundle of love.
Our nephew, Sweet Cameron

Sweet boy.
I love spending every moment with this little guy. He is such a joy and is growing way too fast. You might remember he was a little thing at birth, but he showed us... He is growing like a weed and melts my heart. I like to refer to him as my "chunk of love." He has the prettiest blue eyes, and the sweetest smile, and a laugh that is contagious. He is for sure pure joy.

Patrick and I got to go to Starkville at the end of the July to love on him. We love that both sets of his grandparents live in Hattiesburg because that means we get to see him too, but going to Starkville is ideal because we don't have to share with everyone. And you know when he is in town, everyone wants to get their hands on him. We had a great weekend loving on him and catching up with his parents. Which by the way, his parents are amazing. I am so proud of Adam and Amy, they are wonderful parents to little man. It is so neat watching their relationship grow with their son. I know God has great plans for Cameron, and I can't wait to see where life takes him.

Cameron is at such a fun age. He is nosey, let me tell you. He sees and hears everything. He always wants to know what is going on, and sleep is still not his best friend. Hopefully, one day soon he will learn how great sleep is. He started daycare this week. A bittersweet day for his parents, but we know he will do great and he will thrive in his environment. It's just an adjustment period right now. He is a happy baby, unless he is hungry or tired, and who can blame him. And he has started "talking" (baby talk that is). I think he really likes to hear himself. It is such sweet sounds. I am counting down the days until I get to love on those cheeks some more.

Cameron Charles I hope you know how much your aunt and uncle love you. We are so blessed to have you as a part of our lives. We know you will do great things, and love watching you grow. But, don't grow-up too fast. We love you little man.

And for your viewing pleasure, a few more pictures:

Can you see my hair? Compliments of Uncle Patrick.

Hey guys!

Those fingers are so good! I heard my aunt loved her fingers too!

Bon Voyage!

Carnival Elation
At the beginning of July, Patrick and I along with our families were able to take a much needed cruise. We were counting down the days until our ship set sail. We hadn't been on a cruise since our honeymoon so we were for sure itching to go. If you have never been on one I highly recommend it. You don't have to worry about anything once you step foot on that boat. It really is wonderful.

We set sail from Mobile on the Carnival Elation headed to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. It was nice to relax for 7 glorious days. We had a great time, and it was nice to spend time with my parents, Patrick's parents, my sister, and future brother-in-law. Let me tell you a little bit about what we did... We ate, laid out, read books, listened to music, ate, took naps, ate, played on the slide, did a little shopping, ate, went to the shows, and ate. Ha! I guess you can see we did a lot of eating, but don't worry we didn't eat too much. Just enough to keep us satisfied the entire time.

At dinner
I do have to say we were a little sad that the weather did not cooperate. It rained 4 days... In Jamaica we did not have anything scheduled, so we played putt-putt and played on the slide, and I am pretty sure we took a nap that day. In Grand Cayman we got a little wet trying to do some shopping. We were able to get our snorkeling excursion in, but it was a little rough. The next day we were in Cozumel, we got soaked. It rained a lot, and we were not able to go to the beach. I was probably the most sad this day. I was looking forward to putting my feet in the sand and having a relaxing day at the beach. Oh well, we made the most of it and enjoyed the rest of our day on the ship. The last sea day it looked like it was going to rain all day, but finally the sun did pop out for a little more time in the sun.

Time for some putt-putt
The food was great, the ship was great, and the company was great. All in all we had a great time. We cannot wait to go back. We are trying to figure out how we can do the Eastern Caribbean soon.

But, for now we dream about it and keep planning for when we can say Bon Voyage again!
